Waukon Future Business Leaders of America

Have you ever wondered why Waukon Future Business Leaders of America does the activities that it does? Why do you see students out raking leaves? Why do they put on a carnival? What's with the annual Haunted Park?

Waukon Future Business Leaders of America is the largest non-affiliation chapter in Iowa with 122 active members. One key component of Iowa FBLA is its FBLAopoly program.  Per Iowa FBLA,

"FBLAOPOLY is the premier program for chapter development in Iowa. FBLAOPOLY focuses on creating quality local chapters through recruitment, financial management, community service, service learning, marketing and public relations, and participation in state and national programs."

Chapters work to complete as many as they can of 37 various tasks to earn points. At the end of the competitive season, chapters can earn bronze, silver, or gold status. It is a way for students to learn leadership and other valuable skills as they work to make events happen by planning, promoting, and executing. Waukon FBLA has hosted guest speakers, volunteered at West and East Elementary schools, Competed in Business Battle testing, attended business tours, and more! Each activity is recorded and submitted to Iowa FBLA for points and chapters are recognized for their efforts at the State Leadership Conference in March.
