Speed Dating with Books

Students in English 11 enjoyed a class period in the library Speed Dating With Books.  Tables were set up with selected books by genres.  Students were given 5 minutes at each table to meet and explore their future book date.  At the end of the period students choose the book that they had the most in common with and felt would be a great book to date.

Dot Day

International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration centered around the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds.

The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of  self-discovery and sharing.
