Allamakee K-12 Curriculum

At Allamakee Schools, we take pride in offering a curriculum grounded in high-quality instructional materials that engage and promote academic achievement for every learner. Our resources are thoughtfully chosen to align with state standards and emphasize deep understanding, critical thinking, and real-world connections. By using evidence-based, rigorous materials, we ensure all students have equitable access to meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for future success.   • Our English Language Arts curriculum is built on high-quality, evidence-based materials that promote strong literacy development across all grade levels. Students in grades K–5 use Into Reading, a comprehensive program that builds foundational reading, writing, and language skills through engaging, evidence-based instruction. In grades 6–8, students deepen their comprehension and analysis through thoughtfully designed novel units that foster critical thinking and a love of literature, as well as the IXL program for diagnostic data and personalized learning. For grades 9–12, StudySync provides a dynamic, standards-aligned program that integrates classic and contemporary texts with writing, discussion, and digital learning experiences to prepare students for college and career success.

  • Our mathematics instruction is guided by Savvas enVision Mathematics for grades K–12, a comprehensive program designed to build deep conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and mathematical confidence. EnVision engages students through visual learning, interactive technology, and real-world applications that help them see math as meaningful and connected. We also use IXL diagnostic data and personalized learning.

  • Our science curriculum combines hands-on exploration with evidence-based learning to build curiosity and deep understanding of the natural world. In grades K–5, students engage with FOSS (Full Option Science System) kits, which provide interactive, inquiry-based investigations that encourage observation, questioning, and discovery. In grades 6–12, OpenSciEd empowers students to explore complex scientific phenomena through collaborative, real-world problem solving and data-driven inquiry, as well as IXL for diagnostic data and personalized learning. Together, these high-quality programs ensure students develop critical thinking, scientific literacy, and a lifelong interest in science.

  • Our social studies curriculum engages students in meaningful inquiry and exploration of the world around them. In grades K–5, inquirED fosters curiosity and critical thinking through inquiry-based units that connect history, geography, civics, and culture to students’ own experiences. In grades 6–12, eLearning Central provides rich, interactive resources that deepen understanding of complex social, historical, and global topics. Together, these programs help students build the knowledge, skills, and civic awareness needed to think critically, communicate effectively, and participate thoughtfully in their communities.
